Matt Gasser is no newbie, and the folks in Huntingburg know it. Matt was born in Huntingburg, Indiana, raised there, and worked there – in the HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing industry – for a full 33 years before RG Mechanical opened its doors in the fall of 2015. It’s no wonder people know whom to call when they need service and repairs.
As the President of RG Mechanical, Matt is responsible for estimating jobs, scheduling projects, and managing the day-to-day operations of one of the most successful plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration business in the area. And while people may call him for his knowledge and skill, it’s the people that matter most to Matt.
Matt’s favorite part of being in the Huntingburg community? The privilege of being a community member. “I love that I know almost everyone,” smiles Matt. And he doesn’t bat an eye when he names his favorite thing about working at RG Mechanical, “It’s the employees.” Relationships – and trust – matter a great deal when it comes to letting someone into your home or business to tackle jobs as important as keeping your heating, cooling, and plumbing systems running effectively.
Matt learned the business from his father. He was “born into it,” he says, and worked by his father’s side while he was growing up. That lifelong experience has made Matt an expert in the industry and RG Mechanical, a leader in their field. It also taught him the value of family. Spending time with his family, his wife Misty, and their four children Brandon (his fiance Alexa), Claudia, Jack, and Sam, is his favorite pastime. He also enjoys woodworking and shooting trap. He’s a sports fan too; he likes the St. Louis Cardinals, Indiana Hoosier, and the Indianapolis Colts.
When we ask Matt what he most wants people to know about RG Mechanical, his thoughts turn back to the people around him and the team he works with. “We take pride in what we do. We provide good services for good value.”
Matt is deeply rooted in the community. He’s an active member of the Knights of Columbus, YMI Club, Optimist Club, and St. Mary’s Church. Make sure and say hi when you see him. He’s a good guy to know.
